2019 Fall Retreat

CAMAC Fall Retreat Summary

As an important part of CAMAC annual activities, the thirteenth fall retreat was held on September 7th, 2019 at Gaia Hotel in Anderson CA.

We had total of 44 doctors participated the retreat.

In retreat meeting, the issues that concerned all doctors, such as legislative update in today’s health care environment were delivered and discussed.  Our own experts in pathology and neurology presented topics that were closely related to primary care field. The updates and topics elicited very interesting debates and discussions. We all learned something new and useful in health care practice.

After wonderful and delicious dinner, our members and families went on exploring local special sceneries, such as famous Sun Dial Bridge, nearby river bank, and beautiful sun set. Some of us played porker games, tasted moon cakes, and chatted with friends into midnight.

Next day, most members and families had self-organized field trips to Lassen National Park and amazing waterfalls in Nevada State, and brought back their smiles and their artistic scenery photos.

This is what retreat is about: get together with colleagues, families, and friends, learn something while having a lot of fun!

We looking forward to enjoying another fall retreat next year!

CAMAC’s 2013 New Year’s Party Feb. 9, 2013

CAMAC held its Chinese New Year dinner party for the year of 2013 on February 9 at Asian Pearl. Once again, it was a great success. There were 193 people at the event, including members, family members and guests.

The party started with New Year’s greetings from all current and past board members, which were followed by the introduction of our new members. A group photograph was taken as well.

As expected, delicious Chinese cuisine was served, but the evening’s art performances, hosted by Dr. Ke Wu and Dr. Hong Liu, made the party even more entertaining and memorable. We all enjoyed wonderful performances by CAMAC members, friends and family. A solo dance by Stephanie Shi, a two-person comedy show by Dr. Holly Zhao and Dr. Dawei Zheng, and a Zumba group dance led by Dr. Alice Park were just a few examples. The performances ended with a group song.

This year, we also reserved a block of time for our members to catch up with old friends and exchange new information. It was well received by our members.

The board would like to thank everyone who came to the event, especially those who participated in the performances. Special thanks go to the following people: Ms. Junmin (Jenny) Wang, the art designer and director of the art performance; Dr. Jiancheng Shen, who provided technical support for the electronics system; and Mr. Andrew Zheng, the photographer.

This was followed by an educational program focusing on the understanding and treatment of osteoporosis in the Asian community. Drs. The educational program was sponsored by an educational grant that Dr. Yuli Zheng acquired on behalf of CAMAC from Amgen. We owe Dr. Zheng a big gratitude for his great effort in getting this grant for us.
CAMAC president, David Yue Tang introduced new board member Dr. Jean Lee who will replace Dr. Bihai Peng as the treasurer (pending approval by members at next annual meeting), and welcomed four new members who joined CAMAC at the event. Chinese New Year Celebration in Asian Pearl, 2010

On the eve of the year of Tiger, CAMAC held its New Year Celebration at Asian Pearl Restaurant. The party started with Dr. Lin Zhang presenting the achievement award to Dr. Ron Jan for his contribution to the Paul Hom Asian Clinic. Then Dr. Zhang introduced new members and greeted the members and our guests.

Dr. Yunli Zheng presented a precise and well-articulated update on medical advancement in 2009.

The evening artistic program highlighted the party. Hosted by Drs. Michael Yang and Cheyenne He and Mrs. Lily Xu and Mr. Jesse Zhang, we had a chance to enjoy the wonderful performance by our own members and their friends, ranging from solo musicals to acrobatics to magic show; and from instrument performance to paired and group dancing. The party ended with full audience singing on stage.

We regret that we couldn’t accommodate every talented mind to perform at the party due to the time constraint. We look forward to having each one of you appear on the short list next year.

We appreciate our sponsors (Biotronics, GSK, Teva Neurosciences, and GI lead) and feel deeply in debt to our volunteers who helped with registration (Hong Luo, Ying Dong, Yi Sun, and Yin Qiu), DJ (Dr. Michael Li), Video and photography (Drs. Kenny Hu, Quan-Hui Li, and Mr. William Liu), and program artistic design (Jenny Wang).

We feel deeply in debt to CAMAC members and their families and friends for their active participation and generous support; without which the celebration would not have been possible.
